About
Inspired by three dreams that have long grasped my memory, this piece interprets my desire to explore the complex and layered nature of my dream world and my subconscious. As a child, I had a difficult connection with dreams, and this work is a manifestation of my attempts to decode the hidden messages and symbols within my dreams, as well as a meditation or form of acceptance for those dreams. The work interlaces different aspects of the dream world, such as whispers as sound, feeling as woven, and the viewer as an observer floating within the dream. The use of poetry, sound, weaving, and embroidery creates a multilayered nature that invites the viewer to interpret the work in their own way. Dreams are often open to multiple interpretations, making sense of the ambiguity reflected in the work. The three dreams inspired by this piece are written and interconnected as a poem, hidden and revealed within parts of the imaginary. The title of this piece, “A fragile dawn, a floating wish, a fleeting farewell,” is intended to capture the ephemeral nature of dreams and the emotions they evoke.
